Things To Note Before Arrival

New or referred patients are advised to bring their referral letter to the first consultation.

To accurately diagnose a suspected cancer, The Cancer Centre conducts a range of tests, including blood tests, PET and CT scans, MRI scans, and biopsies to correctly identify the cancer type and stage. The appointment and tests can be done on the same day if the patient has fasted. If not, the tests can be done the following day.

Most laboratory results require about 4 hours to complete, while a PET scan may take up to 24 hours. This means that a full diagnosis may take anywhere between 1 and 3 days.

Local or overseas patients visiting The Cancer Centre for a second opinion should bring a copy of their detailed medical report, histology report, and previously prescribed treatments and medications.

We are able to arrange for Vietnamese, Russian, Indian, and Cambodian-speaking translators. We also encourage patients to bring a friend, relative, or main caregiver to the appointment for emotional support.
