At The Cancer Centre, we customise cancer screening based on your medical history, age, family history and any symptoms that you may be concerned with.
Some of the cancer screening tests include:
We will inform you if you need to fast for your screening tests. If fasting is required, you will need to stop eating by 12 midnight the night before your appointment and drink only plain water on an as-needed basis.
Also, if you have gone through previous screening tests and received abnormal results, please bring these reports along for your appointment.
Consultation
You will be required to provide information on your personal medical history as well as family history. You may produce your past medical reports if you have any.
Physical Examination
You will be required to remove your clothes for certain examinations such as a breast examination or a per rectum examination.
Formulation of Customised Cancer Screening package
After the clinical examination and assessment, our oncologist will then recommend the tests required for you. The cost of this customised package will also be made known to you.
Undergoing Cancer Screening tests
Most of the tests can be completed on the day of your visit. However, if a particular test requires more preparation (e.g. CT virtual colonoscopy), the particular test will have to be scheduled on another day.
Review
Once your results are ready, we will contact you to arrange an appointment to review your results with our oncologist. Same-day reviews are possible, depending on the type of test conducted.
*Any further tests, medications/vaccinations, doctor consultations will be chargeable.
